New and stricter conditions for app acceptance on app stores that you should know about
1. New Rules and a Strict Shift in App Store Policies
Recently, there has been a radical shift in the mechanisms for reviewing and approving digital applications on the Google Play and App Stores. A set of strict standards has been imposed, aimed at filtering out weak or fraudulent platforms. It is no longer simply a matter of uploading an application file and waiting for routine approval. Instead, there are now rigorous software and human filters that examine every line of code and every user interface. This stricter approach is a natural response to increased security risks and the stores' desire to improve the quality of the digital environment for the end user.
2. Mandatory Testing Requirement for Twenty Testers on Google Play
One of the most prominent mandatory requirements recently imposed by Google on new personal accounts is the necessity of subjecting the application to closed testing by at least 20 testers continuously for a minimum of 14 days before it is allowed for public release. This requirement aims to force developers to measure performance efficiency and detect system bugs and sudden crashes before commercial launch. This procedure has posed a significant challenge for many startup entrepreneurs, as it now requires advance planning and the availability of a dedicated testing team to ensure that this stage is successfully completed.
3. Minimum Performance and Functionality Standards for Applications
The app stores have explicitly stated that they will no longer accept applications that offer extremely limited functionality or rely solely on displaying internal web pages (WebViews) without providing a genuine and distinctive user experience. An application must contain a minimum of interactive tools and features that justify its existence as a standalone program on the user's device. Applications that suffer from extremely slow data loading times, or that contain broken links and inconsistent interfaces that do not conform to internationally recognized design standards, will also be immediately rejected.
4. Stricter Data Protection and Account Deletion Measures
Apple and Google prioritize the security and privacy of user data. It has become a stringent requirement that users have a clear and direct option to delete their account and all their data from the company's servers with a single click within the application. If your application requires the creation of a user account, it will not be accepted under any circumstances without a "Delete Account" button, accompanied by an external link to an updated privacy policy that clearly explains the type of data collected, how it is processed, and how it is protected from breaches.

7. Accuracy of Metadata and Rejection of Misleading Marketing
Strictness is no longer limited to code alone, but extends to application metadata such as name, description, and screenshots included on the store page. The administration firmly rejects the use of misleading keywords or false promises in the description that the application does not actually deliver. Attached images must accurately reflect the application's actual interfaces with correct dimensions suitable for all devices. Any manipulation in this regard is considered a direct violation and will result in immediate application rejection.
